Tatiana McIntosh Financial Hardship Scholarship

Attached and below is a wonderful scholarship opportunity for those student who are going through a Financial Hardship.

Hello Everyone,
Tatiana McIntosh Scholarship Fund -  Education-Financial Hardship Scholarship: Many students experience difficulty with the costs of living and studying. This scholarship aims to assist students who experience financial difficulty arising from having limited income.

Eligibility:
  • Be 18 years or older, or have a parent or guardian who must apply on their behalf
  • Enroll as an incoming Freshman or Sophomore
  • Enroll on a full-time basis in an Associates or Bachelors degree program
  • Evidence of sustained commitment to, and achievement in academic studies
  • Evidence of financial hardship
  • Evidence of sustained participation in and commitment to community and social service activities
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation required, detailing why the candidate should be considered for this award (written examples of student's achievement or potential are encouraged)
  • Demonstrate commitment to ongoing personal and professional learning
Priority will be given to those with life altering or serious illnesses or living/economic conditions, and/or those who have medical expenses that may pose an ongoing financial drain that may jeopardize one's educational status.

Award: $500 (up to two students per year can qualify for this award.) The scholarship will be used for the purchase of prescribed textbooks, or for dormitory housing expenses, or as a contribution towards tuition and fees.

Dallas, Scruggs, & Sworn Scholarship-ONLY 4 APPLICATIONS To Hand Out!

Dear Seniors!

Requirements
The Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation, Inc., Fort Lauderdale, Florida is requesting scholarship applications from high school students in Broward County.  The scholarship is $1,000 a year for tuition and books for not more than four consecutive years.  Awardees must maintain a B (2.8) average or higher during their course of study.  The annual deadline for application is April 15th and the award is in the month of May.

  • Must be a resident of Broward County and a graduate of any High School in the County
  • Graduated from high school with a minimum GPA of 2.8 or higher
  • Show proof of admission to a four-year college
  • Submit two letters of reference, one from the counselor of the school from which the applicant graduated, and the other from a clergy or official of the court.  Letters must be mailed along with the application.
  • Submit a picture with the application
  • Complete and submit the formal application provided in Section B to the address stated.
