Greetings Community Leaders, Guidance & Educators,
I wanted to inform you of an opportunity for graduating seniors (June’15). As mentioned during our class presentations and college/career fairs, Keiser University, a Partner in Education with BCPS, will be hosting a Rising Scholars Pre-College Summer Program for Graduating Seniors (June’15) that plan to attend a college or university in the Fall of 2015. The objective of this program is to promote the necessary skills for students to be successful in their first year of college no matter which institution they choose to pursue after high school. In this program, students are able to take their first college course as a high school graduate, l attend seminars that focuses on leadership and time management, and learn about resources available at the university level that assist in student success.
1) All tuition and fees are covered by Keiser University as a Partner in Education with Broward County Public Schools. Students are only required to purchase their textbook for the course of their choosing.
2) Students will receive an official transcript to submit to their institution of choice for credit.
3) The program 4-weeks and incorporates Leadership Distinction Seminars and Success Skills workshops to ensure students have the necessary tools to be successful in their first year of post-secondary education. (June 29th – July 24th)
4) Every student interested in the program will sit with an admissions counselor to decide on the appropriate course to take and align it with their program of study.
*This is also a great opportunity for students that may not be sure of what they want to pursue after high school or question the possibility of success during college as well.
Students must retrieve all required documents and interview before April 17th to be eligible for the program. Seats are limited. All accepted applicants will be notified no later than May 1st, 2015.
Please inform students to not mail/e-mail any application materials. All materials are to be delivered in person during their scheduled interview date/time.
