Fwd: REMINDER: Salute to Education Scholarship-Due Feb 2nd!

Hello Ms. Orris!

 

I was reviewing the application database to check on the status of application submissions.  I noticed that ONLY ONE student from your school has applied (or has begun the process).  I know your school often has many applicants so I just wanted you to be aware of this.  Maybe the kids need an additional nudge to log in and apply.  Deadline to apply is soon approaching on Monday, February 2nd at midnight. 

 

Just wanted to bring this to your attention.  I don’t want anyone to miss out on this opportunity. J

SALUTE TO EDUCATION
2014-2015 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

ATTENTION STUDENTS:

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. 
To apply for a 2014-2015 scholarship, all eligible* Miami-Dade and Broward County high school seniors must follow these steps: 

Step 1:      
Click on the link below to complete and submit the scholarship application. 
BE SURE TO PRINT A COPY OF YOUR APPLICATION FOR YOUR RECORDS, BEFORE SUBMITTING IT ONLINE.  Applicants have a little over 3 months to fill out and update their application before submitting the complete application online.

Step 2:      
Once the application has been submitted, your application will go through two rounds of preliminary judging.  The semi-finalist's name and pertinent information will be sent to his/her college advisor and an Application Verification Form in order for them to verify and confirm your application information to be correct. The applications of these semi-finalists will then be sent to the judging committee for the final judging phase where the actual winners are chosen.

Step 3:      
THE APPLICATION SUBMISSION DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 2, 2015 AT MIDNIGHT. Once you submit your application online you will receive a confirmation page confirming that your application has been accepted and gone through. The page will pop up on the screen once the application goes through. PLEASE PRINT OUT AND KEEP THIS CONFIRMATION PAGE FOR YOUR RECORDS.   Please DO NOT call the Salute to Education offices to confirm if we received your application online.  The officials at Salute to Education CANNOT and WILL NOT confirm whether we have received your application if you call or send us an email.  We receive more than a thousand applications and cannot provide that information because that information is located in an offsite database and we do not have access to that information until after the application period closes and the records are sent to us.  The confirmation page you receive once you submit your application online is the confirmation you need to ensure that the application went through.

IMPORTANT:

  • AGAIN PLEASE DO NOT FORGET TO PRINT OUT YOUR APPLICATION BEFORE YOU PRESS THE "SUBMIT" BUTTON.  IT IS IMPORANT FOR YOU TO HAVE WRITTEN RECORD OF YOUR APPLICATION JUST IN CASE THERE IS A COMPUTER OR SYSTEM ERROR.  ALL FIELDS ON THE APPLICATION MUST BE FILLED OUT IN ORDER FOR THE APPLICATION TO BE SUBMITTED COMPLETELY.  IF A FIELD IS NOT APPLICABLE, PLEASE PUT "N/A" ON THE ANSWER LINE.INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.APPLICATIONS THAT DO NOT HAVE THE 2013 ANNUAL FAMILY INCOME LISTED WILL BE DISQUALIFIED
