2012 Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the  Year

Eligibility:
Teachers, coaches, principals, guidance counselors, athletic directors, parents and relatives are encouraged to nominate a student athlete for the SAMMY 2012 Award. Additionally, all high school seniors are allowed and encouraged to nominate themselves for the SAMMY 2012 Award.
  • Legal resident United States or the District of Columbia
  • Enrolled as full-time student in a state-accredited private or public high school, in good standing in grade 12
  • Minimum GPA of 3.20
  • Essay (of no more than 250 words): "How you make milk a part of your breakfast routine to fuel daily
  • achievement in the classroom and on the sports field"..
  • Participates in a high school sport or club sport during the 2011-2012 school year.
  • Applicants cannot be on suspension or other disciplinary probation imposed by the school or school system at any time in the 2011-2012 school year.
  • Applicants cannot have been arrested, charged with, or convicted of any crime.
  • Applicant must graduate at the end of the regular 2011-2012 school year and be enrolled as a full-time student matriculating at a State accredited college or university, approved by Sponsors, carrying a minimum of 12 credits for the 2012 Fall semester. Trade and vocational,and community colleges are not eligible.
Award:

  • $7,500 college scholarship from the Milk Processor Education Program
  • An invitation for winners, parents and/or guardians to attend a SAMMY 2012 awards weekend scheduled for June 2012
  • An opportunity to be pictured in a special congratulatory Milk Mustache ad in a June 2012 edition of USA TODAY and other national publications.
